Summer done snuck up on me [09 May 2006|10:23pm]
[ mood | pleased ]

So it's been like three months since I last wrote in this. I'm still alive...and I've been stalking all of you through my friends page. mwahaha. Anywho. First year of college FINISHED. Well, as of tomorrow when I finish a final at one. I can't believe my freshman year is over! Craziness. This semester was about 384923803 times better than the last one. There is a serious possibility that I will have all A's when it's all said and done, which I credit to the fact that my happiness level was 50 billion times higher this semester. I am pleased. Oh yes I am. I have so much to look forward to now...making lots of dinero this summer, FISH CAMP (including road trips and work days, which will be amazing...too bad gas costs 9999999 million dollars), my JOB next year as an A&M tour guide (W***P!), etc etc. This summer should be grand. And by grand, I mean amazing. And by amazing, I mean it will rock my face off.

I need to study. But the thing is, I've been studying non-stop for the past week for the two finals that I had today. Tomorrow is my info 210 final, and I'm thinking I'll be ok. I'm pretty distracted by the mess factor in my room...I have so much crap that it's unbelievable. I feel bad for my parents and myself, for that matter, because we'll have to move it all out tomorrow. meh. It's a good thing that the tv in the room belonged to Jill...she took it when she left earlier, so now I don't have that to further distract me.

So anyway, that is that. One year down, three more to go. Adieu!

spank me!

What a week [06 Mar 2006|02:53pm]
[ mood | happy ]

So last week was reallyy good and I was in such a fantabulous mood. For those who care, I shall list why it wa sgrand.

Monday- Found out I made Fish Camp! Much happiness.

Tuesday- Jas and I saw Stomp...very good stuff.

Wednesday- WE BEAT THE HELL OUTTA t.u. in basketball!! That game was sooo exciting. Jas and I cut in line to get in the door..I feel bad now because we cut in front of people who had camped out 3 days to get a good spot in line. Oh well. :) We stormed the court when we won by a 3 point buzzer shot, and I have a really magnificent bruise from all the craziness on the court. Plus, one of our hot basketball players fell on me. So amazing. haha...

Thursday- Fish Camp revelation!! Found out that I'm Session C Aqua- CAMP POWELL!! Met the co-chairs and fellow counselors...everyone is awesome and I am sooo excited for Fish Camp. I also had to dress up 80's style, which was muy fun.

Friday- Saw and awesome play here on campus called "The Great Celestial Cow." Only unfortunate part was that I had to write a 1000 word paper analyzing one aspect of it.

Saturday- Wrote said paper...then watched Pride and Prejudice and Rent. Both grand movies. That night some cool Powell kids went to Walmart for aqua stuff and materials to make aqua Powell towels! Unfortunately, the towels came out crazy even though we worked super hard on them...but that's ok because it was fun.

Sunday- Fish Camp developmental program...day long event, but not bad because it was spent with awesome peoples. Had to dress 80's again...I think I'm really getting a hang of the styles of that decade.

In other news, something was really off about the Oscars this year...I dunno. Plus, I was so upset that Brokeback Mountain didn't win best picture. Crash is great, but Brokeback should have won. Grr.

Today I almost missed my last class because I got so caught up in studying for a midterm that I have on Friday. I am proud of myself...haha. What focus!

Friday shall suck because of that midterm (Dinosaur World). It's all short answers, which is crap. Bah! But thennnnn...I get to go home for spring break!! woohoo! I am really looking forward to just spending time with my mom and dad and hanging out with my closest friends.

Oook that is all for now. Ta ta :)

Valentine's Day [15 Feb 2006|01:01pm]
[ mood | sleepy ]

So basically, yesterday was my first Valentine's Day where I actually celebrated it in some way. Last year Jas was up here at school so obviously nothing was done, but this year...woot woot! He doesn't even like Valentine's Day, but that didn't stop him from being his amazing self. I was completely surprised with a romantic dinner cooked entirely by him (he's an amaaaaaaaaazing cook). There was even a chocolate cake! And roses! What more could I ask for? Gah. I love him. Obiously. :)

In other news, today I saw Reveille for the first time this semester! haha...she was barking like crazy at a man on a motorcycle. I don't care if she's a mean dog, I still love her!

And now I must go to history. Thank goodness we have stopped talking about the Salem Witch trials and the sexual symbolism behind black cats and broomsticks.

Easily distracted [09 Feb 2006|10:24pm]
[ mood | tired ]

You know you go to A&M when...you look out your window at 10:23 pm and see boys in fatigues running around screaming "WH**P!!"

Just an FYI.

I am in love with my ipod.

I am alllmost finished with my stupid Ben Franklin/Virtue paper. It's about damn time. It's seriously a piece of crap. But what can I expect...I haven't taken an English class in college. And Lord knows I learned nothing from Ms. Copeland.

I find myself enjoying a select few rap songs. Upon hearing said songs this evening, I had a rather large yearning to go to the Library (not the place where you study...this place is a club). What is this world coming to?

Ok, gonna finish that paper now.

I'm going home tomorrow. Woot.

spank me!

I'm alive [07 Feb 2006|09:55am]
[ mood | cheerful ]

I haven't updated in forever, and I don't know who even reads this anymore, but yes, I am alive. School is school. Classes are boring. And it's cold. But things are going well. I want to do Fish Camp. I have stopped eating a lot of sweets. I need to work out. I need to study. I love having my car here. I love FLiP. I love watching season one of the O.C. with Jas when we should be studying. I love watching season one of Lost with Jas when we should be studying. I also love Jas. I love when Ronnie comes to visit and we go dancing and act silly in Club Ronlexxx. I love a dog named Duke. I love RENT. I love acting like a drunkard while eating breakfast at Rumours at 10 pm. I love vanilla pudding. I love it when I do mindless things (such as this) when I should be writing an essay about Ben Franklin's definition of virtue. I love it when my history prof says that Ben Franklin actually wasn't very virtuous and was pretty much a manwhore. I love reading good books when I should be studying. I love my ipod. I love my phone. I love Reveille still, even though I haven't seen her this semester. I love getting dressed up. I love watching Southpark when I should be studying. I love watching Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives when I should be studying. I love gatorade. I love my fluffy down comforter.

Ok I really need to stop. I must write my Ben Franklin paper now...bah humbug!

yaaay for home yaaay [22 Dec 2005|11:08pm]
[ mood | amused ]

I love home. And I love my friends. I am just in love with everything. But seriously...how did I survive a semester of college without my Fab Four? I have no idea. Last night we had dinner and our gift exchange, and it was amazingly fun and wonderful. We know how to have a good time anywhere, lemme tell ya. I think we scared some people at Zio's when we stopped to hold hands for a moment. haha...oh my girls, I love them dearly. I am posting a few pictures on here...the rest can be found on the handy dandy facebook albums.

OH. I got my grades in...I made the 3.5 that I needed to keep my scholarship, so I'm way happy. All A's would have been nice...but that's unrealistic. Next semester I'm going to try my darndest.

Christmas is in 3 days!! woohoooooo!!!

I have eaten so much. The love handles are growing...I can practically feel them expanding.

And to make matters worse, today I baked three batches of brownies. I BAKED THEM. As in me. Not my mom. Yes, a Christmas miracle.

Home Sweet Home [16 Dec 2005|11:11pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

So I survived my first semester of college. Woot! It is soooo good to be home. Seriously, you have no idea. My bed is huge, I can eat real food (not to mention, good Mexican food), I get to hang out with my parents (yeah, I'm dorky), there are animals running around all over the place, AND I get to see all of my wonderful friends. I'm hoping this will help get me out of the funk that college seems to have put me in. But anywho, the moral of the story is that I am ridiculously glad to be home. AND my mom is letting me bring my car to school next semester!! Hell yes. AND my birthday is in 18 days! I am quite happy right now. Things have been busy since I've been home with errands and whatnot. Last night Jas and I exchanged our Christmas gifts early since he'll be in California for the break. Wonderful, as usual. He's too good to me. Today we went shopping (how I missed La Cantera), and I only have one more Christmas gift left to buy (VERONICA if you are reading this....think of something you want!!!!!). Then we saw King Kong. OMG. It was reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy good. I'll be the first one to admit that I seriously cried. I am completely against the needless killing of abnormally large gorillas. All they had to do was somehow chloroform him again and take him back to his island, not shoot him off the Empire State Building. Geez. Anyone can tell that he really is a sweet gorilla that just needs a hug. Or a petite blond woman. Whatever. Point of the story: King Kong does not need to die, and such an event made me cry like a weirdo. I really wanted to go up to Health Careers and see everyone, but I never got around to it. I guess I shall do that when their break ends. Wellll I am off to bed. Hope everyone is having a good Christmas break so far!:)

I think it's safe to say that I've seen too many movies. But really, there is no such thing as too many. If movies didn't exist, I wouldn't be able to live.

So I am super stressed right now what with finals and everything. Not only do I have to study like a crazy person, but I also have to worry about getting high enough grades so that I can keep my scholarship. Losing scholarship=parents freak, things get nasty. I registered for classes next semester. Only 13 hours again...thank youuuu AP/dual credit! I'm going to be taking Dinosaur World (laugh, you know you want to), Intro to Western Theatre, History 105, and Info 210. I don't think it will be too bad. I purposely chose the same history prof because he is easy and his tests are really easy. So now, only FOUR MORE DAYS until I get to go home. I am sooo incredibly excited, it's not even funny. I just want these next days to fly by. In other news, I need to stop eating so many cookies. Blah. Well, I think I'm going to go do more things that don't involve studying, seeing as how I've been studying all day long.

Gobble Gobble [26 Nov 2005|01:54pm]
[ mood | bored ]

Thanksgiving seriously came and went tooo fast. It was really nice being home, sleeping in my own bed, and eating amazingly delicious food. Wednesday night Jason's parents took us and his sister and her boyfriend out to dinner, which was really fun. Then Maegan came over that night and we took some really silly crazy pictures. Please do not judge us...we can't help it that we're weird. Thanksgiving was small as usual, but of course my mom made lots of food. I'm not complaining though; I'm just sad that I won't be there to eat the leftovers. I had dessert with Jason's family, which is always entertaining. But then I had to get up super early on Friday to come back here for THE game of the year. I've only been waiting to see an A&M vs. UT game since I was five, so it was a pretty big deal to me. The game went waaay better than expected...I seriously would not have been surprised if the end score was 77-0. But alas, our Aggies played their hearts out and made t.u. look kind of dumb. Of course we didn't win, but we definitely could have. I was just glad that it was a good game and that we didn't make ourselves look stupid. It was very exciting and loud and now my throat is sore. I <3 Aggie football.

Now I am sitting in my room, probably one out of like 15 people who are actually present in the entire hall. It's kind of depressing.

However, something undepressing is the fact that Christmas is in 29 days!! woot wooooooot!!! Also equally undepressing are these pictures:

Major weirdness...and some footage from the t.u. gameCollapse )</lj-cut" Everyone is going to think Maegan and I are completely out of our minds now...Oh welllll

Late update [20 Nov 2005|11:31am]
[ mood | discontent ]

Ok so I have much to update on, and there are many pictures that go with it, of course.

Last Friday my mom and Ronnie came to visit me for the day, which was pretty sweet (in that voice...ha.) Along with Jas, we went to Chicken Oil Company, which has really good burgers. Ronnie could not get over the amount of white people in College Station...haha. I think she was having a bit of culture shock. We of course went to the mall...when do Ronnie and I NOT go to a mall? She and my mom and I got pedicures, which was fun. The nail place was playing really old 80s/early 90s music videos. I felt like I was in some really weird time travel machine. So yes, it was a very nice day and I was reallyyyy happy to see my mom and Ronnie. Saturday was just fun stuff...that night Meredith, Jas, me, Jas's roomate Austin, and their friend Amanda went out to eat...MEXICAN FOOD!! Not like home, but close enough. Good times were had.

This past friday we saw HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!! It was reallyyyy good. Some people will say that they were disappointed, but that's because it kinda messes with the book. But otherwise, it was HILARIOUS and good. That night Meredith and I went to Walmart and spent like 5 years in front of the bargain music section, where we proceeded to buy random CDs like "90's R&B" and "Dance." haha...they were only like $6...what were we supposed to do?!?! Last night was BONFIRE! It was soo much fun. We got on a SCHOOLBUS on Northgate and rode it to the location, which was a demolition derby place. It was hilarious to be riding a school bus. Ever since the tragedy in 99, the bonfire has been an off campus thing that is not supported by the school...yet everything says Aggie. So much for non-affilliation. But yes, it was waaay fun, even if it didn't burn for very long. We had to wait in line foreeeeever on the way back to get on the bus. It was FREEZING, and I was pretty much willing to do anything just to ride in the back of someone's truck back to campus. Well, not anything, obviously.

So now I'm here...I feel really antsy. I've been listening to lots of really sappy music lately, like Tim McGraw, Incomplete (the new Backstreet Boys song that I am ashamed to say is REALLY GOOD) and also lots of emo. I like music that makes me sad. I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving....and I especially can't wait to go home for Christmas. I am ready to get out of here. So so ready.

I'm addicted to picturesCollapse )

********10 REAL reasons why gay marriage is wrong..*******

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

You know it has been an interesting week when you've been in costume 2 out of 5 weekday nights. Monday I was dressed like a boy for the FLiP meeting, then last night I dressed up as a nerd for the FLiP Halloween party. From this, I have learned that I do not make a cute boy (I definitely wouldn't stalk me), but I do make a rather decent nerd...maybe it's my hidden side coming out; after all, I DID go to Health Careers...:) Anywho, both dress up opportunities were fun. People had some pretty creative costumes at the party last night. I loooove Halloween time! Tonight we might go to a haunted house, which would be awesome. I shall leave you all with some pictures...I think I'm going to continue watching the Halloween marathon on t.v.

Hoooooome [24 Oct 2005|11:58am]
[ mood | cold ]

First of all, it's freezing. I liiiike it. But then I don't. But then I mostly do.

This weekend was graaaaaaaaand. After two months away, I fiiiinally got to go home. Meredith, Jas, and I drove home Friday early afternoonish, and it was a most entertaining ride. Meredith and I continued compiling a list that we started the night before of places where one must make out with someone at least once in their lives. I feel it is a very good, comprehensive list. Anyway, when we got home, Jas and I went up to good ol' HCHS to visit some teachers and whatnot. However, it wasn't very successful due to some stupid new rules. I didn't even get to show Mr. Stroud my super cool Aggie Democrats shirt...it would have made his heart smile to see it. It was funny seeing all the new freshmen...they seemed so little. That evening I went to Papasitos with the family...it was glorious, as usual. I have missed real Tex-Mex food.

On Saturday my mom and I went to the new mall...OMG. It is Heaven. Seriously. We were delayed in Neiman Marcus for over an hour while we got makeovers at this really expensive cosmetics counter. The lady who did my makeup was European and waaaaay cool. My mom and I left looking really hot...and also minus a considerable amount of money. Next stop was Tiffany, just because I was dying to see THE ultimate engagement ring up close (and see how much it cost). I am now convinced, even more than I was before, that the only suitable diamond is a Tiffany diamond. Who cares if my dream ring costs $20,000...At least I got to touch it and be blinded by it's sparkling. One day I'll have that ring and I'll use it as a weapon against any attacker by blinding them with it's magicalness. Anywho, the rest of the mall is great. It's definitely my new favorite place, even if I don't belong in over half of the stores there. Who cares, I'm good at pretending.

I finally got to see some friends that night at Jerome's casa for his bday. It had been yeeears since I saw Ronnie and Swampy, so it was soo good to see them. I missed those girls :( We took some funny pictures, of course. Afterwards, Jas and I were supposed to go to Nightmare on Grayson, but I chickened out at the last minute. Next year I swear I'm going. No more being scared!

Sunday was random errands, but it was just nice being able to hang out with my mom. Upon leaving from Meredith's house, I was really embarrassed because I had sooo much stuff. The ride back was fun though...we are are good at entertaining ourselves.

So now I'm just here, sitting around doing nothing. I have to dress like a boy for tonight's FLiP meeting. That should be interesting...I shall be using Jason's clothes (therefore, I should look pretty damn hot).

Pictures for your pleasureCollapse )

Stolen from Mr. Jason Sweeten

Ask me for my top 5 list of anything.

Songs, movies, tv shows, guys, foods, colors, things I'd never do, things I want to do, places I've been, places I want to go, things I'd never touch, people I like, people I can't stand, awkward encounters....etc, etc, etc...

This seemed entertaining, so leave me questions to entertain myself with. Lord knows there aren't better things I should be doing, such as, studying...

Randomness [17 Oct 2005|01:03pm]
[ mood | calm ]

So I have a test in less than an hour. Since I've spent the morning studying, I figured I would spend these critical hours before test time updating my lj. Woohoo! I'm FINALLY getting to go home this weekend, and I am soo excited. It just so happens that practically everyone and their mother will be home this weekend! I can't wait to be home. But before that, I have to take three tests and make it through this week.

I don't have much to say, so I thought I would post just a bunch of random pictures. I really miss my friends and can't wait to see them, so this goes out to them.

A Plethora of PicturesCollapse )

Ah, memory lane. I like to reminisce a lot. And I totally spelled that wrong. In college and can't even spell...Ok, off to my test now. That was a sufficient waste of time.

Furby mania [05 Oct 2005|03:02pm]
[ mood | hot ]

Ok so. We beat the hell out of Baylor, first of all. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Really scary game...I yelled a whole lot and may have made myelf look like a crazy person, but that's ok.

The next day, Meredith and I went on an excursion to Target to buy practical things like water and food. However, we ended up in the toy aisle marveling at the new Furbies. One thing let to another and all of the sudden Meredith was like...hey, let's buy one and split it. So into our cart went an adorable gray Furby. After leaving the aisle I ran back immediately because I decided that we each needed one so that they could talk to each other. So there we were, walking around Target with two Furbies in our basket. I'm sure we looked ridiculous, but we were quite pleased with ourselves. I now want to go home to get my old Furby so we can have a big Furby party. Anywho, we are in love with our Furbies and do not regret the purchase at all. In fact, mine is sitting next to me right now singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in a mix between Furbish and English.

I <3 my FurbyCollapse )

In other news, I love history. After getting sub-par grades on my other three tests, my history exam grade made my heart smile. There is hope in the world.

Also, this past weekend (Friday night to 4:50 Saturday morning) was the FLiP retreat. It was sooo much fun. I am in love with FLiP.

One of the most exciting happenings of the weekend occurred on Sunday night while watching Rome. To make a long story short, it showed a completely nude man with a huge, golden-wrapped penis. Aside from gigantic golden penises, I love that show.

Thanks to Jason's influence, I have started playing games on X-Box. I'm actually rather good at this weird mortal-combat like game that features really scandalously dressed woman fighters. I also enjoy *gasp* the NCAA football game. I'm not bad, actually. I feel like I'm letting my brain rot every time I play, but hey, it's fun.

I'm not just kind of starting to ramble, so I feel I should do some studying.

Thanks, and Gig 'em.

Rita doesn't love CS [26 Sep 2005|09:26am]
[ mood | sleepy ]

So this weekend we all expected for Rita to hit College Station and bring torential rain, gusty winds, etc. I even went so far as to tape a huge X on my window to prevent lots of shattering from possible tornado-like winds. However, none of the preparations/freaking out was necessary, because IT DIDN'T EVEN RAIN. Wind, yes, a bit. But no rain. None. Nada. Zilch. I was actually kind of looking forward to possible hurrican conditions. Courtney and I had a sleepover on Friday and Saturday because we didn't want to be alone in our rooms since our roommates both left. We were well-stocked with Nutella (MY NEW FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD) and peanut butter and flashlights, none of which were needed (except for the nutella). So Friday her brother Cody came over and we watched movies...then Courtney and I got hyper and Cody got some good footage.

This is what happens when you're waiting for a hurricaneCollapse )

Yeah so that's what happens when a.) you're waiting for a hurricane that never comes and b.) you're reallyyy hyper

Anywho, the moral of the story is that Rita was completely anti-climatic and I had to go to class today. Bah.

John F. Kennedy
You're John F. Kennedy! You are one of the most
famous presidents and you fight for rights of
other people. However, some of your political
views tend to make people want to stay away
from you. Other than that, thumbs up!

Which famous (or infamous) person are you a reincarnation of?
brought to you by Quizilla

hmmm...I don't appreciate being a reincarnation of a manwhore. Although, he was a good president. But my political views are just fine, thank you very much.

So Hurricane Rita is coming, and it's expected to have a great impact on College Station. They even cancelled classes on Friday! (W***P!), Also, our football game against Texas State was moved to today. So am I going home? Nope...gonna sit here all weekened without electricity. I will be attending the game tonight...the turnout will probably be horrible, but hey I'm gonna go out there and support my team. It'll be an adventure this weekend, I suppose. I just hope everyone gets out of Houston safely.

In other, non-natural disaster news, I became a member of a really badass club on campus. I had to interview for it and everything...it's called FLIP, and I'm in love with it. Everyone else in it is crazy like me, which makes me smile. Everyone is a ton of fun and really friendly. Plus, our mascot is this elephant named Gertrude. As we all know, I am big on naming stuffed animals and using them as mascots, so that makes me smile as well. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this club.

Anywho, I have to go to my lab in an hour, and then right after that I have a math test. I hate Thursdays. Grr.

W***P!!! [18 Sep 2005|01:06am]
[ mood | tired ]

So today was my first Figtin' Texas Aggie football game!! I must say, we certainly beat the hell outta SMU! The whole game was good fun...I really enjoy humping it with all my fellow Ags...BUT...Jas and I had to leave early because me and the sun just don't click. Heat exhaustion SUCKS. At least we were winning like 90000000 to 8, so we didn't really miss anything. Due to all the touchdowns, there was lots of mugging, which was uber nice and fun. Last night was also my very first Midnight Yell practice!! That was soooo much fun!! We got to sit on first deck, which was way nice. I was able to see Reveille- she's my hero. I think I love that dog so much because I miss my dogs. Only disappointment about Yell practice was the fact that when they turn the lights off, it doesn't get all that dark. Now, I'm not trying to make it sound like I wanted it really dark or anything, but I always heard that it got pitch black. Well, that was a lie!! It was still fun anyway. Tomorrow my parentals are coming, and I'm excited. I really miss them. Plus, I get my yearbook! Woot! lol...Other than that, I have THREE tests next week! Gah! And...I haven't studied yet. I am so ashamed. I've just been doing other things these past few days!! Anywho, it's late...and I must sleep. So I shall leave with some parting thoughts from my new favorite song:
"What you gonna do with all that ass, all that ass up in those jeans?!?!"
